I am tired of complaining. I am tired of writing about being unfocused. And if I’m tired of it, I’m guessing you all must be ten times more tired of reading about it.

I had a very eventful (read stressful) April. I completed my first sprint triathlon and finished my 3rd year law school finals. Since then, I’ve been just twisting in the wind. I’ve got no focus, no direction. And let me tell you, my Itty Bitty Shitty Committee has staged a successful coup, and are almost incessantly and very loudly screaming. Falling in love again, with running!

Picking myself up

This was not a good week for me. I started down a slippery slope on my birthday. I put a stop to it yesterday. Enough is enough already!

I started the Spring Fling challenge on 2/23/10. The challenge is 8 weeks long and I set a goal to lose 8 pounds. Right now, it’s not looking like I’m going to reach that goal, but don’t think I’m gonna stop trying! Continue reading

Hello? Motivation… where did you go?

(Warning – there will be foul language throughout this entry. If you are easily offended by such language, please don’t read.)

Wow. I feel like total crap. I worked my ass for the entire month of March to get shredded. Every friggin’ day for 30 days. And I’ve probably gone and fucked it all up in the last 6 days. Damn, I suck.

I gave myself a free day of eating for my birthday. Well, actually I started out tracking, but got told by my friends, that calories don’t count on my birthday. It was an easy sell. (For the record, I do not blame my friends, this is all me.) I wish I had more self control and will power. But I don’t. Why don’t I? Other people do. Where’s mine for fuck’s sake? Continue reading

In da Groove

I lost 1.4 lbs this week!  This is the EXACT same amount I gained last week… 

I’ve shredded for 17 days in a row!  I can’t believe it!  I’m actually really proud of myself!  Only 13 more days to go!  Which means only 14 days until my birthday! I’ve really been wanting a new Dooney and Burke purse and matching wallet… shhh don’t tell anyone tho, ‘k? 🙂 Continue reading

My Fitness Big 3

At the beginning of this year, I told Daniel that I wanted to log 250 miles of running in 2010.  I just looked at what I’ve logged so far this year, and if I keep up what I’m doing, I will run nearly 400 miles by the end of the year!  Wow!  Last year, I set a goal to try new things – things that were outside my comfort zone, things I may not like or be good at.  I just wanted to try.  That was my goal.  Continue reading

Confused – but not defeated!

I gained 1.4 lbs this week… 😦

This week has been difficult for me in non-weight loss related ways.  I’m feeling overwhelmed with my school schedule, the rental house we live in is having issues and issues with my 18 year old daughter.  I am guessing that the stress has gotten to me, and that is the reason for the gain this week.  I can’t think of any other reason.  I stayed within my calories and I exercised…  Continue reading

What a difference a week makes!

I lost 2.2 lbs this week!!!!

This has been a fantastic week for me for more reasons that just the weight I lost!  I found a new app for food and exercise tracking that I like better than Daily Burn.  It’s called My Fitness Pal.  It actually shows your net daily calories.  Daily Burn doesn’t do that.  So I switched.  Continue reading

30 Day Shred, Pre-shredded pix

Who could have thought that a before picture would lift one’s spirits? Certainly not me. I’ve been feeling really discouraged about all the hard work I’ve been putting into training and the effort I’ve been putting into watching my calories.

So today begins the Shrinking Jeans 30 day shred challenge. I had done the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred video once over a year ago and could BARELY move for 3 days after! It’s been collecting dust ever since. Continue reading

True Confessions

On Monday morning I woke up feeling like myself again. I’m back! I decided to pick myself up by my big girl pants and find Beki inside the depression and fight to free her. She’s there! Depression is NOT allowed to win! 😀 Monday morning I committed to tracking my food for just that day and getting some exercise in. It turned out to be a gorgeous day outside and we (Daniel, his friend Rich and myself) went on a 14.79 mile bike ride! (1 hour, 7 minutes, average heart rate of 157.) I felt great after the ride!
